Using the Friend Menu- Add, Remove, Chat, Trade, Hatch, Ignore, & Add to Group

Sometimes while you're playing you run into other people that you would like to play with again. You can do this by adding them as a friend. It is always polite to ask if you can add someone before you do. After you ask and they say yes, left click on the person or their name in the chat box.  A menu will appear.

Click Add this Friend to add them.  This window will then appear, click yes.

The menu that appeared will now look like this.

If you decide that you no longer want to play with this person for whatever reason, you can remove them by selecting that option on the menu.  If they are online when you remove them they may send you another friends request, they may even ask you why you removed them. It is not necessary to add that person back. Simply click on their name in the chat box the menu will appear again, select IGNORE.

If someone asks for your help, open the friend window or click on their name in the chat box and then select Go To Location. You will be taken to where they are. If they are not allowed to have help because it is a solo instance then it will tell you that your friend is busy and does not wish to be disturbed.

By Clicking on Text Chat you can private message that person. Menu chat is the same, a private message but from the selected pre-typed menu.

The Trade button will open a treasure card trade. The other person may not accept and it will tell you that they have cancelled.

The Hatch button will only work in the Hatchery.  It will offer the other player to hatch with your pet.

Ignore does just what it says. You may still see the person after you've ignored them but you can no longer see anything that they are saying to you or anyone else.  A person does not have to be on your friends list to be ignored. All you have to do is to click on the player or their name in the chat box and then choose the IGNORE Option.  I use this a lot when people are saying things that I don't like, for instance circumventing the chat system by using ugly language, making nasty comments, or just being totally annoying.

Add to Group- This option is used for three purposes.

  1. The intention of this button, so that your group of friends (3 or more) can chat together without everyone else seeing what your saying.
  2. People will add you to a group if your friend request is turned off, or if their list is full but you all wish to play together for only a little while. This way you can keep up with one another in dungeons or areas that your all in, but you don't have to actually add each other.
  3. In order to ride a multi-person mount.

You will notice that I didn't cover Reports in this post. They have their own separate entry.
